Christmas list!

All I want for Christmas is new socks, under shirts and under wear. Oh and maybe some new polo type shirts and maybe some button down shirts, but that is it. Oh wait, maybe some new jeans.

Appreciation!

I sure have a different view and appreciation of what it means to be a homemaker and a business person. I will never take anything for granted again! Thanks for everything you do!

God's love!

Well this is only my 3rd post and I thought I would go ahead and share my heart. I have been a Christian my whole life (as far as I can remember) and always knew that Jesus died for me and that I loved him. I always felt that I had a personnel relationship with him and that he was always there for me. Well as I have grown and gotten older and have had more responsibilities given to me I haven't always relied on him for guidance and leadership. I have tried to do what I thought was the best for me and my family and not always said "God I don’t necessarily know what’s best for me or my family, so please guide and show me". Most of the time I just did what I thought was the best and most logical things without thinking about how it might effect others or how it might make them feel. I have been known to be somewhat of a closed minded person and if it didn't make perfect sense to me than it must not be the right thing to do. Well as some of you that are reading this might know I have a wife who is very creative and spontaneous and would go down to Africa right now and give up ever material thing she has just to dig well or plant gardens. Over series of events and wrong decisions or just flat out not being led by the Lord I have came to realize that I don’t know it all and that if an opportunity comes in life that I might not feel so excited about and is really out of my comfort zone that I need to always pray and ask God for his guidance, even it that means quitting my job and moving to Africa :). Anyways the point I'm trying to make or get across is that God's love is bigger and better than any love we could give or receive and that when you give everything to God and totally surrender he will make better decisions for you then you could ever have done on your own.

Siding!

Well to try and make a long story short, our siding on our house is failing. We have lived here for a little over 3 years and when we bought the house the inspector stated that the siding was not in too bad of shape and that it definitely was not LP. There was some bad boards around the bottom of the house so we just had those replaced with hardi (which looks just like the siding we currently have). Anyway, 3 years later and the siding is starting to really go bad and in some places I can put my finger right through it. We have had a few siding contractors come out and take a look at it and they all said basically the same thing "you need all new siding". It really sucks because the house is only about 10 years old and siding should last for at least 20 years. Anyway, one of the contractors stated that if it is not LP and some other brand of siding that they might still be under a class action lawsuit and that there might be some money out there to get. So I did some research and sure enough the kind of siding that we have (I had to guess somewhat because we had no idea and there was no info from the original owners on who built the house or what kind of siding they used). I filled out a claim and sent it in a few weeks ago and I just called them today and sure enough, they got my claim, it is the kind of siding I thought it was and they will be sending a rep. out in the next few months to take a look. Now we just need to see how much $$ we can get because siding for 3600 sq ft is not cheap!
